Apibara: open-source data platformApibaraThis project aims to add Ethereum data (Execution + Consensus Layer) to Apibara, an open-source data platform. Apibara allows developers and researchers to synchronize any onchain data to a target database or API. Currently, we provide support for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Parquet, and webhooks. It is easy to add support for more integrations. Apibara focuses on “online” usage: first, it backfills data and then synchronises it as the chain moves forward. Developers can access the data using the tools they already know. Our data synchronization protocol is chain-independent. For this reason, we can support indexing Execution Layer and…

In March 2024, the Ethereum network underwent a significant upgrade with the implementation of EIP-4844, an essential part of the Dencun hardfork, aimed at bolstering Ethereum’s role as a data availability layer. This upgrade introduced “blobs” of data, dramatically enhancing the scalability of Layer 2 solutions by increasing data availability by approximately 100 times. As with any major upgrade, it’s crucial to evaluate its impact, understand its implications, and refine our approach moving forward. To that end, we launched a dedicated data collection round, inviting researchers and developers to delve into the empirical impacts of EIP-4844. The response was overwhelming,…
Why we come together Every two years, the Ethereum community comes together at Devcon to collaborate and build toward a more holistic, trustworthy, democratic, and decentralized future. Devcon isn’t about hype or speculation; it’s about creating a more free and open society where technology enhances human potential and aligns with our core values. For four days, developers, community leaders, and changemakers step out of their silos and gather in one place to share knowledge, align on Ethereum’s future direction, and learn from each other. After Devcon, we scatter back into our decentralized lives, but the momentum we create energizes us…
Ethereum price struggles below $3,000 with buyers defending $2,750–$2,800 support. Open interest rises as leveraged longs increase, raising volatility risk. Fusako upgrade sparks interest, but market remains cautious amid outflows. Ethereum price remains under pressure after a week of sharp declines, institutional outflows, and renewed macro uncertainty. The cryptocurrency has attempted several intraday rebounds, but none have been strong enough to shift the broader downtrend. As investors assess shifting liquidity conditions and await the upcoming Fusako upgrade, the key question is whether Ethereum (ETH) is preparing for a relief rally or bracing for another leg lower. Selling pressure meets fragile…
The EcoDev Research Team at the Ethereum Foundation is excited to announce the launch of five six-month research fellowship positions. This fellowship offers the opportunity for participants to dive deep into underexplored Ethereum use cases, identifying blockers and enablers that may affect their development. We invite researchers, developers, community members, and professionals from other industries to apply by submitting their background information and a one-page research proposal. We are looking for innovative ideas focused on nascent Ethereum use cases that: Materially and uniquely benefit from Ethereum’s capabilities.Focus on use cases that create positive sum outcomes and real-world benefits.Have yet to…

Devcon community, We’re excited to introduce the teams joining us for the Devcon SEA Impact Forum. These areas in the Devcon venue are where you can meet contributors driving important Ethereum projects, explore the ecosystem, and connect with innovators shaping the future of Ethereum. The Impact Forum is designed for knowledge sharing and collaboration. Teams will have dedicated spaces where you can engage directly with them, ask questions about their work, and understand the impact they’re making on Ethereum and its community. Meet the teams at the Impact Forum On site, you’ll be able to find over 50(!) ecosystem teams.…
Hi Ethereum frens, With just 13 days to go until Devcon, we’re amazed by how huge this year’s event will be! Our expected number of attendees has doubled since last time (12,000 vs. 6,000 in Bogotá), we have more than twice the number of Community Hubs and Impact Spaces, and we received double the amount of talk submissions. The Ethereum ecosystem has evolved significantly in its technology, and as the community has grown stronger, more global, and more active than ever. You will witness this all at Devcon SEA, through both technical content for developers as well as sessions for…
